Business Development Manager 

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is the catalyst behind Authentically American’s success as an organization. As a consultative sales professional, the BDM is responsible for driving revenue growth and bringing in new business from prospects. BDMs set appointments and meet with business owners and executives to educate them about our partnership opportunities for co-branded apparel and merchandise. They do this by prospecting over the phone, face-to-face, through their networks, and building referral partnerships. BDMs are compensated with one-time commissions and ongoing residuals from continued orders, creating a commission annuity. 

This role will be regionally based, and the right candidate will be able to manage a pipeline of both new and existing business to be successful with the end goal of increasing revenue and delivering superior customer service. The BDM will work closely with our VP of Sales & Business Development, continuously reviewing and improving our processes and customer experience from acquisition through delivery. 

This position requires strong vision and pipeline management with the ability to form great relationships with key stakeholders, to ensure success in this role. 

This role will be commission based, 1099 position only with a book of business that is mostly new, but some established customers. You will be equipped with an extensive on-boarding process, Microsoft office suite of software, business cards, and company email. 


  • Identifying and qualifying prospective clients----- Develop, drive, and execute comprehensive search strategies to attract C-Level executives from Fortune 500 companies, Middle Market, and Small Businesses 

  • Execute successful co-branded apparel deals within the promotional market space 

  • Successfully hit set quarterly and weekly targets | KPIs will be defined once onboarded 

  • Client Relationship Management – Manage existing customers and relationships 

  • Active collaboration with the VP of Sales to develop a book of business and pipeline management 

  • Ensure compliance to processes and sales tools such as CRM internal systems 

  • Carry out all aspects of delegate sales activities such as lead generation, business development and cold calling 


  • High character and integrity 

  • Passionate about company vision and mission 

  • Ability to work alongside C-Level in the Fortune 500 space 

  • Experience selling into the promotional market PPAI/ASI 

  • Ability to analyze markets, identify targets and develop relationships while winning new business 

  • Comfortable cold calling; persuasive writing and proposal generation; account managing and customer service; comfortable in high-pressure business settings; adept at building strong customer relationships; exceptional leadership and people management skills 

  • Self-starter capable of working autonomously 

  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems in a fast-paced start-up environment 

  • Detail and process oriented 

  • Strong MS Office skills (primarily Excel) 

  • Ability to prioritize and multitask 

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills 


  • Minimum 2+ years sales or account management 

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred 

  • Promotional Products industry experience preferred 

  • Prior military experience preferred

Work Hours and Location: 

  • Remote – Regional Based 

  • 5 – 40hrs | More Hours = higher customer acquisition
